Thesis Title: 'Laser Machining of Thin Metals and Polymers for Biomedical Applications'
Abstract: Femtosecond pulsed laser produces highly smooth edges of the cuts and holes which makes it extremely useful for cutting stents of medical grade materials like NiTi, Ti, Co-Cr, PCL, PLA. The accuracy and precision of the cuts and holes produced can be well controlled by varying laser power, pulse repetition rate, cutting speed, focal position and gas pressure. The optimized laser parameters for different materials are different because of difference in the thermal and optical properties. This work focuses on the quality analysis of fs-laser cuts on three medical grade materials Pure-Ti, NiTi, PLA/PCL. The study determined the order of statistical significance of laser input parameters  Ep, PRR, tp, Vs on the width and depth of cut. The work also focuses on the optimization of the laser parameters for minimum HAZ and Kerf and studies their variations. An attempt has been made to design and cut the stent of PLA/PCL copolymer and the mechanical tests like three-point-bend test, radial compression test, crushing test and dynamic test/fatigue test were studied. according to  ISO 25539.

Summary: Worked on Laser cutting of CP-Titanium, Nitinol, & PLA/PCL copolymer using femtosecond pulsed laser to  quantify and analyze the variations of the Kerf, depth of cut and HAZ (Heat Affected Zone) for selected materials.

My Bachelor's Project @MMMUT

Bachelor Project: 'Design And Fabrication of Water Conditioner'
Advisor: Prof. Narendra Singh
Department of Mechanical Engineering
M.M.M. University of Technology, Gorakhpur

Abstract: We live on a planet where 70% area is covered with water but it is quite ironic to know that 7.046 billion people on earth use less than 1% of the total available water. It currently
affects around 2.8 billion people around the world, on all continents. Therefore we need a
good purifier system to solve the problem. A good water purifier will cost average ₹ 15000
and will consume electricity continuously for conditioning the water according to
circumstances will cost even more and it will result in high electricity power, whereas
water conditioner is using renewable energy source so cheaper and free maintenance. Water
conditioner is a device which purifies the water and provides us both hot and cold water
which serves various essential requirements of life. It uses only renewable energy resources
so it is termed as future device. It is based on the principal of Peltier plate which makes its
one surface a hot junction and other as cold junction; in this project we are using this
phenomenon for cooling and heating purpose of water.
